The Moonraker MRW-500S is a high-gain telescopic handheld antenna designed for VHF/UHF amateur radio operation on the 2 m and 70 cm bands.

Its centre-loaded design and extended 87 cm length provide improved performance compared with the short standard antennas normally supplied with handheld transceivers. Moonraker specifies a gain of 3.2 dB on 2 m and 5.6 dB on 70 cm.

The MRW-500S covers 144–146 MHz and 430–440 MHz for transmission, while offering a wide 25–1800 MHz receive range, making it particularly useful with handheld transceivers and receivers featuring wideband reception. Maximum power handling is 50 watts.

The antenna is fitted with an SMA Male connector for direct connection to compatible handheld radios with an SMA Female antenna socket.

For added convenience, the MRW-500S package also includes a second shorter antenna, providing a more compact alternative when the full 87 cm telescopic antenna is not practical.
